Plating Baths

The majority of applications in the finishing industry involve plating baths where components are dipped into a bath, which contains a plating fluid designed to apply a coating to the finished product.  This coating could be decorative or to prevent corrosion and in the case of printed circuit boards (PCB’s) the copper that is deposited becomes the circuit.

Depth/Pleated cartridges are used in a re-circulation loop to remove any particulate, which could spoil the finished component.

Organics can also build up within these baths and this is removed with carbon cartridges.

Depth cartridges can also be used when the waste from the tanks is being disposed of to remove large particulate of the plating material such as zinc and copper.

In some multi-round housings within the plating/finishing industry the diameter of standard carbon cartridges is too large – ELPC cartridges should be used in these circumstances due to their thinner diameter.

Top-Up Water

RO or DI water is used in various applications within the finishing industry the main uses are, top-up water for plating baths and the rinsing of finished components.
