Medical Shower & Tap
The Pentair X-Flow Medical Shower and Tap filters contains hollow fibre microfiltration with billions of microscopic pores. The pores form an ultra-fine filter which retains any bacteria or fungi present in the water resulting in clean and safe water for patients and staff.
Our range of pleated filters are widely used as effective surface filtration due to their excellent flow rates and high efficiency. Pleating allows the media to be tightly packed within the cartridge dramatically increasing surface area.
Depth filtration, as it suggests, is the process of filtering through a depth of media. To obtain retention of particles in the depth media, two events occur known as mechanical and adsorptive retention.

Resin beads are fabricated from an organic polymer substrate. They are small and typically porous, providing a high surface area. These beads are used to either exchange positive ions (cations) or negative ions (anions).

Bag filters are available in three FDA compliant media formats. Polypropylene felt, which is suitable for the majority of applications. Polyester felt for solvent compatibility plus high temperatures, and mesh for coarser filtration.
Reverse Osmosis is a highly efficient way of purifying water. It works by using a pump to push inlet water across a semi-permeable membrane. Water molecules are forced through the membrane leaving almost all of dissolved salts on the concentrate side of the membrane.
A reverse osmosis membrane is an effective purification method to remove salts and ions to produce pure water. Water is forced through a semi-permeable membrane which rejects salt molecules and leaves pure water on the other side.
Pressure Vessels and Resins
A pressure vessel system holds any resin type to ensure the water treatment process occurs thoroughly. Resin is poured into the vessel to approx. Â¾ full to ensure the resin does not get compacted and to allow for any resin expansion.
Water softening is an important process within filtration. When water is hard, it can clog pipes and soap will dissolve in it less easily. Water softening is a technique that serves the removal of calcium and magnesium ions that cause the water to be hard.
