Solutions for Chemical Production: Are We Compatible?

Industrial

Solutions for chemical production are different to those in other manufacturing facilities. We understand the importance of a media’s compatibility level with the specific chemical so that it can be processed effectively.

The chemical industry adds £14.4 billion of value to the UK economy every year from a total annual turnover of over £40 billion. This represents an impressive 10% of the value added by the whole of UK manufacturing. This means that every care must be taken to ensure that the final product meets the necessary industry requirements.

Material compatibility is something that most people don’t consider day to day, however it is one of the most important factors to consider in the chemical industry. When new manufacturing processes are introduced, including filtration, care needs to be taken when selecting the required products, to ensure that the fluid passing through the media doesn’t have any destructive effect which would lead to system failure (leaks) or product contamination.

Chemical Compatibility ChartFileder has worked in the chemical market for over 3 decades and over this time we have built up a range of products that will suit most, if not all, applications. We’ve created a compatibility chart which enables a quick review of a range of chemicals and the material components of our most common products!

There are many possible filtration processes and configurations that could be applied within the common stages of chemical production. These stages can be split into the following broad categories:

  • Raw materials – to remove bulk particulate
  • Pure water – for use as an ingredient or boiler feed
  • Clarification – to remove smaller particulate and contaminants
  • Final product filtration – to polish off any remaining contaminant before packaging

Having worked within this industry for 30 years, you can be sure Fileder has a solution available to help produce a high-quality product.
