Solutions for Chemical Production
The Chemical and Pharmaceutical industry adds £14.4 billion of value to the UK economy every year from a total annual turnover of over £40 billion. This represents an impressive 10% of the value added by the whole of UK manufacturing. This means that every care must be taken to ensure that the final product meets the requirements.
Material compatibility is something that most people don’t consider day to day, however it is one of the most important factors to consider in the Chemical and Pharmaceutical industry. When new manufacturing processes are introduced, including filtration, care needs to be taken when selecting the required products, to ensure that the fluid passing through the media doesn’t have any destructive effect which would lead to system failure (leaks) or product contamination. Fileder has worked in the Chemical and Pharmaceutical markets for over 3 decades and over this time we have built up a range of products that will suit most, if not all, applications. Our new Chemical brochure includes a compatibility chart which enables a quick review of a range of chemicals and the material components of our most common products.
There are many possible filtration processes and configurations that could be applied within the common stages of chemical and pharma production. These stages can be split into the following broad categories:
- Raw materials to remove bulk particulate
- Pure water for use as an ingredient or boiler feed
- Clarification to remove smaller particulate and contaminants
- Final product filtration to polish off any remaining contaminant before packaging
Having worked within this industry for 30 years, you can be sure Fileder has a solution available to help produce a high-quality product.
