The clarification stage is normally performed later in the manufacturing process, before preparation of the product for final filtration and packaging.
Clarification also includes particle removal, in this instance finer particulate.
Multiple filtration stages may be required here to achieve the final filtration goal. Typically, a cascade of filtration will be used, utilising lower efficiency filters to remove larger contaminants, followed by higher efficiency pleated filters to remove finer particulate or suspensions.
