The Fileder team not only celebrated but also participated in charity events throughout the 40th year. The first was that we partnered with the Maidstone Churches Winter Shelter. During the first two months of 2022, with some of the funds Fileder donated, Maidstone Churches Winter Shelter:
- booked 93 different dinner guests for home-cooked evening meals
- served 907 home-cooked meals for guests, with an average of between 12-20 guests for sit-down meals each evening
- supported between 8-19 guests each afternoon at their drop-in/registration sessions
- had four overnight guests, preventing 111 overall street sleeps in our town
The UK’s largest annual tree celebration, National Tree Week, was celebrated in December. Each year, the country’s conservation sector, volunteer groups and tree lovers come together to plant thousands of trees.
The Fileder team ventured out into the cold to ensure we did our part to help the planet, and just in time to mark the start of the annual tree-planting season by planting 2021 trees in Kent. Some little helpers even came with us to check that everything was in order!
Fileder continued the celebrations at The Amex Stadium to watch Brighton v Burnley in February. A three-course meal was included in the visit as the team sat down in the stunning Goldstone restaurant before waving their Fileder scarves and watching live Premier League action.
Despite the result, it was great to see our employees enjoying the well-deserved celebrations with family and friends!
Sixteen enthusiastic employees participated in the London to Brighton Cycle Ride 2022 on the 11th of September. The team underwent training for the 55-mile stint and began fundraising to raise money for Maidstone Churches Winter Shelter, our chosen charity for the year.
The team completed the bike ride and collectively raised £2,901 for Maidstone Churches Winter Shelter! All donations to this great cause were highly appreciated and celebrated by everyone at Fileder and Maidstone Churches Winter Shelter.
Finishing off our 40th-year celebrations, we took a trip to London’s Tower Bridge for a night of celebrations in the tower, enjoying the breathtaking view and trying not to look down! From reception drinks to a 3-course meal and finally a memorable speech from our Managing Director Martin Ede, the night was the perfect way to close this chapter in our history.
It’s been a fantastic year fundraising, volunteering and, above all, celebrating the outstanding achievements Fileder has made over 40 years of service. We couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunities and experiences the company has been through, and a massive thanks go out to all our associates and customers who have brought us to where we are now.
