To produce dried or powdered milk, the skimmed milk is first passed through a separator, which removes the cream. The milk that is left goes into a condenser with the condensed milk then going into a spray drier to produce the powdered milk.
The non-condensed stream from the condenser passes through a reverse osmosis (RO) system to produce water clean enough to produce steam and the concentrate is added back into the feed line to the spray drier.
