Endoscopy

Final Rinse

The water used for the final rinse cycle of the endoscopes is important for washing off the disinfectant chemicals and to not introduce any bacteria. The water used to feed the AER is commonly used for this application as the final cartridge is rated to 0.2-micron absolute which retains bacteria.

Some AER manufacturers add their own 0.2-micron filter capsules or cartridges to ensure bacteria free water is used as the final rinse water. An example of these capsules is the SPECTRUM Rinsecap which has been successfully fitted to Wassenburg systems.
